August 2026 Admission Schedule and Session Dates

Online admission for the Academic Year 2026-27 (session beginning August 2026) started on 19 June 2026. As announced in the OSOU August 2026 admission extension notice, the last date for submitting online applications has been extended to 07 October 2026.

Earlier in the academic calendar, admission for the January 2026 session opened on 16 January 2026 and closed on 06 March 2026 following an extension, as documented in the January 2026 session notice.

Online Application Procedure and Requirements

Before beginning application entry on the OSOU online admission portal, applicants must create their ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credits) and DEB ID on the UGC-DEB student portal. Hard copies of the application form are not required to be sent to OSOU.

  • Photograph: JPG format, dimension 500 x 600 px, maximum size 200KB.
  • Signature: JPG format, dimension 400 x 80 px, maximum size 200KB.
  • Name in Odia: JPG format, dimension 400 x 80 px, maximum size 200KB (may upload in English if unable to write in Odia).
  • Educational Qualification Certificates: JPG or PDF format, maximum size 300KB.
  • Category or PwD Certificates (if applicable): JPG or PDF format, maximum size 300KB.
  1. Open the OSOU application portal and click on ‘NEW REGISTRATION’ to register using a current email address and cell phone number.
  2. Log in using the registered Email ID and password, then click on ‘Proceed to Apply’.
  3. Complete Step 1 (Personal Information) and click ‘Save & Continue’.
  4. Complete Step 2 (Academic Information) and enter qualifying academic details.
  5. Complete Step 3 (Document Upload) by uploading scanned images of photo, signature, Odia name, and qualification/category certificates.
  6. Complete Step 4 (Online Payment) by paying the programme fee online via available payment gateways.
  7. Complete Step 5 (Edit or Submit) by reviewing all details. Click ‘Save as Draft’ if review is required later, or ‘Save & Submit’ for final submission.
  8. Click ‘Print Application Form’ after final submission to print a copy for personal reference.

Fee Structure and Examination Charges

OSOU has not published separate programme-wise fee breakdowns for all 2026-27 academic year courses on its website as of 02 October 2026.

  • Programme Fee: Rs. 7,500 per year (for PG programmes under the 2024-25 framework).
  • One-time Certificate Fee: Rs. 400.
  • One-time Alumni Fee: Rs. 100.
  • Examination Fee: Rs. 200 per course, payable online when submitting the Term End Examination form.
